Living with Kingdom Authority

“Jesus never called us to live afraid or uncertain. He called us to live boldly and know we operate in KINGDOM authority.

— Rebecca Bracey

How to Walk Boldly in Who God Says You Are

Have you ever found yourself praying, but feel that your words are powerless? You believe in Jesus, His finished work, His power to save and to change the world around you—but you’re still feeling like a victim of your circumstances instead of a victor in Christ. You might feel uncertain that, when you pray, anything is happening at all.

Jesus says “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Go therefore…” (Matthew 28:18–19) and “[…] as the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” (John 20:21). Finally, the writer of Hebrews reminds us to “[…] approach God’s throne of grace with confidence […]” (Hebrews 4:16) yet too many of us settle for a version of Christianity that’s quiet, cautious, and constantly questioning what God can do… instead of boldly walking in what He already gave us.

Jesus never called us to live afraid or uncertain.

He called us to live boldly and know we operate in KINGDOM authority.

Authority Begins with Identity

Before Jesus preached a sermon, performed a miracle, or walked on water—He was baptized. And the very first thing the Father said over Him was this:

“This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”

— Matthew 3:17 (NKJV)

God affirmed His identity before anything else. That wasn’t for Jesus— but it was a sign to the people around Him, and a model for us. When you know who you are – or rather, Whose you are – you begin to live like it.

Kingdom authority flows from identity—not effort, not performance, not how long you’ve been in church, not your title… only your position as a child of God. You’ve been raised with Christ (Colossians 3:1). You don’t have to earn your place at the table. You already belong.

When you believe (and understand) that, your prayers sound different. Your posture changes. You stop begging for what’s already been placed in your hands.

You’ve Been Given His Name—And His Power

Jesus didn’t send us out empty-handed. He sent us out with authority.

“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Go therefore…”

— Matthew 28:18–19

That “go” is backed by the power of Heaven. The early church understood this. In Acts 3, Peter and John encounter a man lame from birth. They didn’t offer advice or sympathy—they declared healing:

“In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.”

— Acts 3:6

The man didn’t rise because Peter was special, or he said things just the right way. The man rose because the name of Jesus, spoken by an authorized carrier, has power to change things! That same name, and same authority, has been given to you. The same Holy Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead now dwells in you! (see Romans 8:11)

You don’t need a microphone or a platform. All you need is a willingness to believe that Jesus meant what He said. You’ve been called, and because you’ve been called, you are equipped!

Authority Requires Action

Here’s the hard truth: You can carry authority and still live like you don’t—if you never use it. God can give you every spiritual resource, but if you never step out in faith, it lies dormant.

“Behold, I give you the authority… over all the power of the enemy.”

— Luke 10:19

But authority without action changes nothing. It’s like holding a sword but never drawing it. Like having keys to the Kingdom but staying locked outside the door. It’s not about hype. It’s not about personality. It’s about obedience.

It’s praying for the sick when God prompts you.

It’s speaking truth with love even when your voice shakes.

It’s standing on God’s promises when everything around you says give up.

Authority grows when you exercise it. And the more you trust God in small steps, the more you’ll see Him move in powerful ways.

We Are Not Ordinary—We Are Authorized

You were never meant to blend in. You were made to carry the presence of God into every place you go. Jesus didn’t rescue us to keep us small. He filled us with His Spirit to send us out in power.

The world doesn’t need more believers sitting on the sidelines. It needs people who know who they are in Christ—people who pray with confidence, love with boldness, and walk in Kingdom authority.

That’s who you are.

God isn’t waiting for you to be more spiritual or more perfect. He’s just waiting for you to say yes:

Yes to believing who He says you are.

Yes to walking in the power He’s already given.

Yes to carrying His authority—not for your glory, but for His.

You are not powerless.

You are commissioned.

Now walk like it.
